I was at Graysons dr appt yesterday and i spoke with the nutritionist about her feeds, diaper blow outs, ect. Since she is getting older they want to try Peptimin Jr. which is higher calories. So that means if she could be unleashed more from the feeding tube. THEN! IF she drinks 1 pediasure a day we could be unhooked most of day and just do bolus feeds. My question is... if she don't want to drink all of the pediasure would/could you put it in her g-tube? Her history is bad with eating. She never drank from bottle. She is behind in sucking. She is doing better tho. But i would have less stress if i could have the option to just put what ever she don't eat in at the end of the day. What do you think? I mind is always thinking of ways to help her gain weight. She is almost 11 months and weighs 17 lbs 7 oz. She is doing great. But i stress over her nutrition. "Good weight, stay healthy, good lungs, stay out of hospital".

Yes you can put peiasure in the G tube. at least if you have the same kind that my son has, the MIC-KEY and most others are the same.

In fact our Dr. said we can put pretty much anything in the G-Tube if it is liquified. MEaning, if you were to take your dinner you made and blend it up in the blender you could even put that in if it is blended enough.

Hope you are able to get her weight under control.

Yes, we give Pedisure via g-tube to our son to help him gain/maintain weight.

As Victoria said, basically if you can put in through the tube without clogging it then you can feed it that way. We have even used for liquid meds if we had trouble getting them into him (note you still need enyzmes swallowed even if using the g-tube).

There are some Enzymes you can put in the G tube. If they are small enough. It depends on the size of the G- Tube.

And the liquid meds are so helpful to put through it. In the hospital when I am not there to make him take them, they do it that way. you can even take regular pills and crush them and dilute with water to put through the tube. If need be.

This was very helpful right before Garran's Tx because they make them drink all this Go-Lightly stuff to make them poo. Well, he just had to have it in his tube abd didnt have to taste that aweful stuff. He was happy!

And after Tx when he was intubated they could give him meds in his G tube with out causing any problems with the vent. etc...It is a multi-useful devise...lol

Soon tho....He will be getting his out!!!!!! He is so excited!
