no carpet.....all hardwoods. My husband pulled them all out when we moved in. CF aside.....I LOVE the maintenance of hardwoods vs. carpets. Little bit of white vinegar and water...mop and go. No more stains or tracks or worn out spots and spots and spots. I would never go back to carpet....CF or no CF. Hardwoods rock

No carpets here, thank God. I get very allergic and wheezy with carpets, no matter how much you clean them. Rip them out!

We started getting rid of our carpet and replacing it with hardwood, tile and laminate years ago, before we had DS. Mainly because with those types of floors I can SEE the dust, dirt, dog hair, MY hair... and am more apt to run the vacuum thru the house. With carpet, if I didn't see it, I thought it was fine. When we started removing the carpet we realized the previous owners weren't all that great about cleaning up spills or accidents. Bleah!

I was burning thru electric brooms until I noticed that my vacuum cleaner has a hard wood floor option. Basically a long hose with a electric broom type attachment.
