Isn't it wonderful that we can make individual choices about this. Lets hope the politicians never take away our right to choose, which ever side of the fence you are on.

What "right to choose"? It's only a choice depending which side of it you're looking at. If one family or individual chooses to have elective procedures they can't afford, someone else doesn't get a choice in the matter about how tax dollars get spent, do they?

Yes, it is good to have freedom to make choices. All of us at some point or another have done things that are wise and beneficial in our own eyes that seem unwise or inappropriate in the sight of others. The most important thing is that we look for ways not to make the "best" choice, but the right one.

I agree with you about finding ways to make the "right" choice. I just don't want to leave the decision of finding the right choice in the hands of people who have political reasons for choosing "right".

Light, what are you talking about how tax dollars get spent?</end quote></div>

It was a political/philosophical generalization with no further bearing on this topic.

There are certain procedures that are performed on the 'National Health Service' here in the UK, and depending on which Health authority you live in, will depend on wether this is free to you. For example, where we stay they will only allow IVF treatment for women who dont have children, whereas, if you stayed in another area this is possible if they have one child.

Tax dollars spent!!!
