denise, the docs are aware of the change, so it'll be fine. the only annoying thing is that the machine will be different than your CF doc's (not sure if you use dimango?) - so your score can go up and down and all around in between tx clinic days. crazy system. they should just go by the actual liters blown out.

Dr. Wilt told me yesterday that they look at the amount of air blown out and how quickly you blow it out. Personally, the whole system is way too much for my feeble mind to handle. I'm just glad the doctors are light years smarter than me. I think they use the LAS to dumb it down for me.

Bronch went well (I think)...I'm sure they'll find my old friend psuedo (I stopped calling him, but he won't get the hint). So, we'll see what "develops"...or cultures.

Piper....yes, I did imagine the increase. I jumped up and yelled, "YES! 550% FEV1!!! I'M GOING TO VEGAS!" The tech was confused and just carried on with the testing.

Isn't it just the percents that are changing or are the raw Liters number changing dramatically too?

lauren, it's the liters, which then changes the percent. it has to do with the mouthpiece and something about the cylinder, but i was so mad by the time they finally did my PFT the other week that i just sort of narrowed my eyes and nodded while it was explained to me. it was one of those "so the machine you paid x thousand dollars for is wonky. great. whatever. i don't honestly care. now please, please, PLEASE get me out of here so i can make it up to clinic!" kind of moments <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">
