Alcohol is my weakness. But i dont indulge as often as I think I would if i didnt have CF. Sometimes i think i would drink soo much more if i didnt have CF, but then i think, i would be a different person so maybe i wouldnt. However, drinking makes me cough the next day, i do not know why but basically it is like i produce a lot more 'stuff' and cough more. No one ever tells you not to drink (other than that its not generally good for anyone) the way that they of course tell us not to smoke, for obvious reasons. I feel worse when i drink beer, i think this is because of what it is made of...wheat, or whatever, and i feel the same way if i eat a lot of carbohydrates (always have even before this no-carb craze). I think i have a mild wheat allergy which is actually fairly common. Anyway, my drink of choice is vodka b/c i like it and one drinks a lot less of it volume-wise so i notice i tend to cough less. however, because of vodka and a wedding last night (not mine) i have the worst hangover ever today. one doctor told me that drinking was ok but not to get to the point where you throw up because you can 'aspirate' it which could lead to infection. apparently everyone aspirates a little when they throw up it is hard not to. i cant smoke, drinking is the one thing i can kind of do, so i do sometimes, i mean come on i am 21, but i know it would be better if i didnt.
