CF and height

For those of you with CF, has your height been stunted? For those of you with post-puberty CF children, do you believe they achieved their full height (i.e., as if they didn't have CF)? I'm curious if the slow weight gain translates to shorter stature in life as well....

I suspect I would have been taller had I been diagnosed earlier. I grew 4" when I was 13 to 14 years old and didn't get any taller again until I was 17 and put on a lot of weight. I spent those three years feeling like I was starving all the time. My son wcf also grew 4" at the same age (13 to 14) but was diagnosed wcf the month he turned 14. Six months later, they put him on digestive enzymes and he gained 20 pounds in a year, going from 103 pounds to 123 pounds (nearly a 20% weight gain). After he gained that weight, he started getting taller again at age 15 1/2. So I believe that I did not get taller from age 14 to 17 because that 4" growth spurt had stripped my body of all available resources and I didn't have the resources to get taller again until I was 17 or 17 1/2 years old.

I am now 171 cm and around 50kg. I stopped growing either direction when I was around 16 years of age. And I always was the shortest boy in my class, untill highschool when I became the second shortest boy. )

My dad is 175cm and my mom is 165cm, BUT my bro (noCF) is towering above us at 182cm. So I don't know how tall I shoud have been.

I was short when I was little and did not hit my growth spurt until I was 17. I think that I shot up about 2 inches within a year or two. Before the Osteoporsis kicked in a few years ago, I was bout 5'11" and now I am about 5'9". I am actually taller than most people in my family. I'm all legs with a 36" in-seam! lol
