Hi, Im Anna. I lived in Litchfield Park, one of the suburbs of phoenix from the age of 6-10. I went to Phoenix Childrens as well, but that was over eleven years ago and Im sure the doctors have changed.

I can tell you what I know. I had my healthiest years living in AZ. I did have to make sure I kept up my salt intake during the summer and always carried a water bottle. I absolutely loved it there. The dry air, I think, made it easier for you to breathe and I had no problems with elevation. There is a ton of pollution though. The heat never bothered me or my breathing. In fact, the one time I was admitted to the hospital in AZ was in the winter months.

Im sorry I cant tell you more about the clinic.

I went to a now defunct boarding school in Paradise Valley, AZ, which is a peach pit of sorts that borders Scottsdale and Phoenix. The heat was fine for me, as long as I hydrated well and kept fairly low key. Like Anna said, the Valley of the Sun is extremely polluted. PHX itself has almost 2 million people, IIRC, and many of its suburbs are over 150,000. The dry air was said to be good for folks, but I have bad particulate allergies, including 30 types of pollen, so that was a little rough there.

I'm nocf, so I have no clue about PCH, but it's a bloody old building, iirc. lol

I am not sure of how they are with coming up with new ideas and pushing the envelope as both are kids are in pretty good health. As far as alternate health, they don't know some of the things we do and they just "deal" with the things they know we do. I could put you in contact with the social worker there and I think she could put you in contact with some parents that are in the same boat as you, and they could give you their feedback.
We have seen 3 of the docs and one NP there. If you want specific feedback, we can e-mail back and forth....

Ehtansky21,

The social worker at PCH is moving on. As of right now I don't think there is one - they are working to fill it.
