CF & Asthma

I'm sorry that Joshua has another obstacle to overcome with his breathing. Jordan has asthma, and it truely does cause him more trouble than anything related to his CF. I have asthma as well, so I know how difficult it can make life.

A lot of times asthma is accompanied by allergies. One of the best ways we've found to control asthma, is to eliminate allergens & irritants. No air fresheners or candles are used in our house. We took out all our carpet, which was a HUGE benefit to all of us in the house, not just Jordan. We bought leather furniture, and that was another great benefit. We had to do these things in stages, because who can really afford a total house makeover right?

Another thing that causes grief with asthmatics is cold air. When Jordan was little, I always carried him to & from the car with a blanket over his head to avoid him breathing in such a large amount of cold air. We also warmed up the car really well before we put him in it. Little things like that make a big difference for a kiddo with asthma.

I hope that you can find a treatment regimen that keeps Joshua's asthma under control.

Chey also has the asthma component to her cf. It really only flares up with/because of a cf exaccerbation.

For me my asthma causes more problems for me then anything else.. I have severe asthma though and honestly, like I said it is the reason for most of my breathing troubles.
