Sounds like folks here have given you good advice, & you found an endocronologist that both you & your son like! One other option to insulin is an oral med called Prandin, that my CF endocronologist said is the recommended oral med if blood sugar is fairly under control, but your son may need a little extra help. It's taken before a meal, & she says it can be adjusted from 1/2 - 2 pills, depending on how many carbs are being consumed. I test my blood sugar 3x's/day now, & use the Prandin & digestive enzymes before I eat, & so far this is managing my CFDR, along w/diet. I want to stay off insulin as long as possible, & so far, this is working!
