I thought about setting my alarm for a time to take my temp every morning, but I have mild insomnia and I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep if I did that. To me having enough sleep is more important than some inconsistancy in my temp. I will finish out the month and see if I get a spike in temp. If I do, I won't worry about it!

After ovulation your body temperature rises due to increased progesterone in your system. Also, your cervical mucus thins out the closer you get to ovulating. So by charting both you know when you are fertile and increase your chances of concieving. I am using www.fertilityfriend.com to track my temp and mucus. You can also use charting to just keep track of your periods too.
