The king of the picky eaters has actually been trying new food for the past couple of weeks at preschool. He's told me twice that he's eaten baked beans -- one. Last week he tried peas -- he's hated peas since he was 6 months old -- the lady in the baby room swore he could tell if even the teeny tiniest of peas was in his food. He ate one pea "and washed it down with a BIG drink of milk". This week it was "I ate a green bean and it was yummy". He's so expressive when telling me this.
So earlier this week he tried chicken nuggets. So that night I dug out some white chicken breast ones out of the freezer and he ate a couple of them. We hit BK one evening and he ate most of them. I'm just thrilled. Yeah, it's chicken nuggets -- not something I'd choose for myself. But it's something NEW and DIFFERENT and for once in his life he's actually excited about eating something and he's ASKING for different foods. In the past he's thrown fits about dirty food. He still just about vomited during sunday dinner when someone passed me the bowl of mashed potatos. But it's a start. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
