Christmas trees and mold

We have always had a real Christmas tree. Now, with Andrew growing all kinds of new stuff, including mold, I am wondering if an artificial tree is our best option. I found this article. What do you think?

We can't have a real tree in our house. I am terribly allergic myself. Jordan has asthma, so they bother him too. If Andrew isn't allergic, doesn't have an asthma component with his CF, and he won't be handling the tree or adding water, you might be able to have one. I would ask his docs about it. I would have one if Jordan and I could tolerate it.

Very interesting. We have a fake tree. I like the smell of real trees but they make such a mess, and I can only imagine what my cats would do to it. Artificial trees look very good these days, they are pre-lit so you don't have to mess with that, and you can get sprays that smell just like the real thing. Now with this info there is just one more advantage to them!

We have a fake tree in the house - always have, for reasons unrelated to CF or health. My son with Cf is 4 now and more interested in this stuff so we're going to get a real tree and put it in the front yard and decorate it for the birds.
