Hi, I'm Tori. I'm 20 years old and currently going through a lot due to my sinuses. I was diagnosed at 4 with CF and was never hospitalized until 16. I never knew you could even have sinus problems until I started experiencing them for myself. I have phuedomonis (exuse my bad spelling!!) and it seems to be the worse in my sinuses. I have had two sinus surgeries and both of them seemed to do nothing. I do sinus rinses, and inhaled Tobi through the nose and that doesnt seem to do much either. I am currently on Zosyn and have also been on many other IV antibiotics but nothing is working!! The drainage from my sinuses to my lungs is non stop and the sinus headaches get so severe sometimes.. It seems like I am constantley in the bathroom coughing up mucis! the only relief I seem to get is from my pain meds, but I dont want to rely on them!! Does anyobdy have any idea on what could help or I would just love to hear your story if you are going through a similiar situation, regardless if you can help or not. =) Thankss!

I'm not much help I have pseudo and chronic sinusitis (no CF). The sinus surgery I had in 2004, did absolutely nothing for me. I am always bringing up mucous, sinuses, ear infecttions and lungs. I'm sorry-I'm sure there are others who will be able to give a better answer~

Hi Tori
Which sinus rinses do you do? I do the Neil med, and find some good relief from them. I too have had the surgeries and although the doc says they have helped reduce the polyps, I still always have a heaviness and the drainage as well. My CT's show severe issues with both maxillary and ethmoid sinuses. I know it can be difficult. If you feel too much drainage at night while sleeping, propping up on some extra pillows can help. Also if you live near a beach, go as much as possible. I always feel better after being near or in the oceans water.

Tori, although its not much help- at least there are others who understand.

My son Josh is going through a very difficult time with his sinuses too- symptoms like you described. He's been doing rinses daily and uses flonase. He's just come off three weeks IV abx and a month of oral before that- still doesn't feel good. He is anticipating another surgery soon but he couldn't get an appt with his ENT until Feb. In the meantime he's on another oral abx and a new neb.

Sorry I couldn't help-It drives him crazy too.
