I am so glad I saw this thread. Emily is usually rx'ed Bactrim when she gets sick, since her staph is sensitive to it and she always loses her appetite in a big way when on it. (This is a particularly troublesome side effect, given she has already started losing weight by the time she's put on it.) Due to illness, she has needed steroids recently while on it, and experienced marked agitation and sleeplessness- which I know is a common side effect while on steroids, but I wonder if it could have been compounded by also being on the Bactrim.
I'm so sorry to hear how miserable you are... please don't feel like you are a baby because you feel like you need help. It's so good you have your parents (well, usually- I am so sorry there are not there now when you need them most) and your Nana for support. That is so important. I'm so glad that you are feeling a little better today at least.
I feel like I have to add- natural remedies, etc are all well & good (I'm not an expert on any of that so can't comment further) but professional help and medications have their place as well. We can make informed choices about our treatment with the doctors we trust; withholding important information from our caregivers when we are worried something is wrong is never a good thing.
