Collapsed lung

Hey!

I have had 2 collapsed lungs in the past 1 1/2! The first one I was in the hospital for 14 days with a chest tube, and they made me addicted to Morphine! That was the worse part! 8 months later it happend on the other side about 20% and it didnt require a chest tube! But I was in there for 7 days on high oxygen! I would def not reccomend you doing the pleurodesis unless that is the last resort because if you have to have a lung transpant later on down the road, it will be very difficult for you body not to reject the lung.

You really cant prevent it from happening, you just do what you do when you do it. Avoid a lot of heavy lifting and make sure that your lungs are not inflammed all the time, try to keep that under control!!

It does take a while to get your strength and weight back up, but trust me it will, but from my experience I do have alittle trouble doing very strenious activities like i used to, and get winded, but its all good, you have to build that back up!

If you need anything, please let us know! We are all here for support!
