Don't be shy about this. When I was in school there were MANY times I and my mother had to go to the dean of residential life and let them know that there were specific NEEDS AND REQUIREMENTS that they needed to comply with. <i>folione </i> is absolutely right. You are a PAYING customer and your health, no matter how much they may belittle it, IS A BIG DEAL. Have your doctor write a letter, go see the dean in person, HAVE YOUR MOTHER CALL.
Honestly, I would not have gotten the things I needed had my mother not gotten involved and been my advocate. I needed her help and I am glad she was there to assist. Those living conditions do not sound acceptable. Be adamant. Don't be afraid. Speak up!
