compliance

I asked my clinic nurse what percentage of their patients she would consider very compliant. She said it is about 20%. I was just wondering what you guys think it might be; especially for teenagers and young adults. We all have some level of responsibilty because we are on this site looking for answers. I wonder how many people fall on the other end of the spectrum and even ignore the fact that they have CF. Also, how do you all rate yourself? Are you someone who does everything all the time or do you tend to take a break here and there? I am curious. I am very aggressive and have been for quite a while; though as a young adult I wasn't always that way.

Right now on a scale of 1-10 I would say I am an 8/9. Growing up a 2 & up until I was 30 or so a 4/5.

to add to this (assumign Skye doesnt matter) if you are really awesome at something, give us some ideas!

I was dx at 21 and went full bore compliant for oh, about a month! After that I would say I was a 5.

Since having my daughter I would say I am 9. The only thing I have besides a (very) occasional missed evening treatment is that I rarely boil or bleach my nebs due to hard water (yes I occasionally buy water), I do my pulmozyme on my trek when I am on TOBI, and I do my nebs while vesting. The things I am bad at are all life balancing choices I have made.

I also would say that growing up, I was probably a 4-5. This went like that all the way through high school and college. Immediately when I moved back home, I became more compliant. I am now probably a nine. Its funny because I was talking to my doctor about this today at my visit. I want to get a vest (right now I have manual CPT) and he was mentioning that 70% of CF patients have the vest but probably not nearly that amount that actually do the the vest. He said I seem like I am very compliant and he is willing to sign off for me to get the vest (yay!!!!). I dont really have much advice, I just get up earlier than I really need to.
