I hear you. We found out after a year and a half that DS's original pari pro-neb ultra I was faulty from day one after we used DH's cousin's older (1992) Devilbiss Pulmoaid and it still works like a charm. We usually just use it for duo/neb if we're at my inlaws and don't want to run back home for a beatment. So I ordered a new devilbiss online for about $100 -- http://www.specialty-medical.c...OD/nebulizers/DV-5650D like this one.
That one self destructed after a year -- they sent me a new one, but I had to wait 2-3 weeks and had to rely on the old pari. Our medical supply company didn't carry either the pari or devilbiss -- said we could LEASE one from them -- some off brand model. We chose not to. They also don't service pari or devilbiss -- have to send them out....
I do like the compactness of the pari proneb ultra II and use it for travel and for when DS is playing XBOX and vesting. We use the devilbiss in the mornings or if DS falls asleep before his last treatment and do manual CPT. After hearing about all the issues people have had with the newer ones, I'm waiting the pari to self destruct. And currently the devilbiss tends to GROWL at us from time to time -- it's only a year and a half old, so murphy's law says BOTH of the compressers will probably self destruct at the same time.
Oh, and I guess the most annoying part of having to get a new compressor -- besides having them not last very long -- is having to have your doctor write a script for one -- contact the medical supply company and they give you the run around about not having a pari or a devilbiss... It's just easier, less stressful to go online and find one at a reasonable price by myself...
