I'm so confused.
My son's ped Dr. just prescribed Flovent for us to try to see if it makes a difference in his coughing. He has coughed ever since he was born. The cough is mainly in the morning, but he will cough throughout the day, activity doesn't seem to increase it.
I know many of the children supported on this board use it. My question is why this was prescribed for a 15 month old when it's states plain as day not to use on children under four, then only to use 1 puff/daily. The Dr. said to use 1 puff for 4 days and if the cough doesn't change to increase it to 2 puffs for 4 more days. If it works he has asthma if not it's something else. Is it really that simple? The side effects include stunted growth, my son can't afford that.
If you remember me my son has had 3 failed sweat tests, and a negative 70-mutation test. We are still trying to get to the bottom of this. At 15 months he weighs 18 lbs 15 oz. We have no family history of asthma so this is a surprise.
Thanks
