I have a copper IUD (non hormonal) and haven't had problems. My husband says he doesn't notice it at all.

My particular type of IUD can last for 10 years. I've had it for almost 4, but will be having it removed soon. We have decided that parenting is a challenge we just can't handle in addition to my health. My husband had a vasectomy and after the lab assures us that he's "shooting blanks" then I'll have my IUD removed.

Just a thought...
Anyone feel better cf-wise now that they don't have their period whether it's because of a device that makes it so you don't have it or menopause, tubal, etc. Since being pregnant and not having my monthly cycle I feel so much better. Although I would consider my experience with Yasmin very good, I think not having a period might be beneficial to my health. Anyone else think this?

I would be really interested in this too. I'll post a thread if you don't mind, as not to hijack <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> and get more feedback. My PMS always makes me tired, bloated (which makes me short of breath) and congested. Argghhh!

Good idea AnD. I'll let you start it. I would think there would be some relation between cf progression and whether or not a female has a cycle or not. Since not having my period my hemoptysis has practically gone away...that alone has to have an effect on my cf.

Me Again. well going back about 37 yrs. ago, (i was about 18 y/o then) i was so sick at that point, in alot of pain, fevers, dirarrhea several times a day, so much pain before going to bathroom, then building up all over again (sound familiar?) throughout the day. I was in and out hosp. several times. Met my ex husband, got married at 21 y/o, had 3 stomach surgeries (told there were several different things wrong w/me) I got pregnant at 23, throughout my pregnancy i felt amazing.. I always felt there must me some correlation between my being pregnant and feeling so much better.. When my son was 6mos. old i had another surgery (my recovery was the fastest ever, due to the strong mothering instincts, i believe..) After that i swore off doc, hosp. for many years. just endured the pain.. saw docs over the years for lung issues, was told i had asthma/etc. I had my 2nd. son 3 yrs. after the first @ 26. Remarried my 2nd. husband 18 yrs. ago had my 3r. son at 38 y/o, 4th. son at 41 y/o.. I was dx at 44 y/o 11 years ago..Throughout each pregnancy, i do think i felt better (belly) than the rest of the time... Sorry so long, as you can see, lots of history.... Joni 55 y/o f w c/f

hey there...
I am currently on the pill (microgestin), which seems to work. My fiance and I haven't had sex without a condom while being on the pill, but it makes me regular and less worried about whether there's something wrong with the condom or something. I used to be on the NuvaRing, which was WONDERFUL. I never had any panics while I was using it when we didn't have a condom. It was easy to use too, you just insert it, forget about it for three weeks, take it out, and repeat. The only reason I stopped using it was because my new health insurance wouldn't cover it completely since it's not in generic (I would've had a copay anywhere from $70-$150). If you have the option to try it, do it. Your gyno probably has some free samples that you could use to see if you like it.
