I am sorry you havent gotten a lot of responses, but sometimes it takes awhile.....

I am not that familiar with sinusitis issues from experience, BUT I would say that the cough is connected. Even if his nose isnt "running" that doesnt mean the crap isnt dripping down his throat into his chest.

Has he had IV's that seem to make a better difference versus oral? Sometimes those sinuses kept so packed that it takes a lot for the meds to penetrate. I think surgery &/or washes is a good solution.

Have you done any type of rinses at home to keep things open?

Hope its straightened out soon!

Christi,
My son is supposed to go to the ENT in Oct and they mentioned a sinus wash. I was seriously thinking about cancelling since he doesn't seem to have a snotty nose right now. But i know as soon as I do he will start in again. Especially since my 3 year old has started with the snotty nose thing.

Good luck with the surgeries and let us know how it turns out!

Christi, I think sometimes we don't have the answer. I know my daughter sees an ENT which is very common for people with cf. They do CT scans on the sinus and look for thickening and cyst and other things. The andenoids can become large and cause problems and the sinuses due drain down. Another common problem. I will try to watch for your post and reply. I sometimes feel odd replying when my daughter is 15 years old but I guess one way to look at it is lived that, done that, so just maybe I can be of some help. This much I can tell you. GI, pulmonary, allergist and ENT all are a part of a cfers life. I forgot endrocrin. We are lucky because all of my daughters doctors are in one place and they all have the background knowledge in cf.

I hope the surgery works and please let us know when he is having it.
