Hi Christy,

I'm glad you finally got responses. It sounds like your doctors have made some decisions to tackle your son's problems.

One of the things that concerns me is when I see numerous rounds of antibiotics with symptoms returning after discontinuing-- mainly because they are not addressing the source. It sounds like other people have had good responses with these surgeries, so maybe Ashton will get some relief.

Steroids are given to "cool the body down" from inflammation. Whether they try steroids or not, one of the best things you can do to prevent future sinusitis is an anti-allergy regimen. Clean up your environment, removing triggers that cause inflammation. This has been discussed recently in other threads. I can point you to them if you'd like.

I was scheduled for sinus surgery for a blocked sinus but ended up not needing it --after I used nasal rinses, Singulair, and different types of allergy control.

Get rid of the sources of inflammation and you'll most probably see improvements in Ashton's health.
