COURTNEY IS WHEEZING

We've always been told to increase cpt when DS has wheezed in the past or "beat that cough/wheeze out of him". Granted last time he was only a baby, but we also would get the bathroom all steamy and let him play in the tub. Maybe a hot shower would help, too to get stuff moving.

The first thing i was thiking when i read that you could feel rattling when she took a breath in, was .... Good, sounds like its loosening up. Usually when i am sick and in need of iv's i have a hard time getting things to loosen up, it takes a few days to a week to get things to loosen up enough to cough it all out. Make sure she stays as active as she can, to keep it all moving up and out. Extra liquids, and extra vest treatments should also help.

My doctor says three days to start feeling SLIGHTLY better, give or take a day. I've had times when I've felt better after one day and sometimes it's taken four or five days.

Also, I often wheeze and rattle when I don't have an active infection. It doesn't really bother me because as others have said, it's easier to bring stuff up when it happens.

Courtney is on day 4 of antibiotics and Prednisone. I am praying she starts feeling better soon!

She had one peaceful night of sleep, but then the coughing started right back up. She did go to school today (thank goodness) but she woke up this morning and said "mom, I am feeling pressure in my chest". I gave her a neb of xopenex and that seemed to help.

Thank you all so much for the advice. Courtney has had no lung issues to date (FEV1 109%) so this is all new to me.

THANK YOU
