Culture isn't back yet -- but the bronch revealed a lot of gunky mucous (shocking, huh?). I know he got a good culture, so it should get us some info. Her cough is finally decreased a great deal today. So fingers crossed we'll go home with IVs soon.

Update -- July 30th.... We are HOME!!! YAY! her culture from the Bronch came back clear but with round remnants (??? I'm sure I have this wrong) which my doctor feels indicates that we aren't dealing with pseudomonas (those remnants are rods??) but that she probably had an overgrowth of staph, but since we were 6 days into IVs by the time of the bronch that all we had left was the excess mucus.

We've got 2 weeks left of IVs, but are doing them from home. They sent us home with the eclipse IV balls. This is new for us --- but they seem terrific!!!!!

I'm sure I have this wrong) which my doctor feels indicates that we aren't dealing with pseudomonas (those remnants are rods??) but that she probably had an overgrowth of staph, but since we were 6 days into IVs by the time of the bronch that all we had left was the excess mucus.
