CXR Accuracy in Children

And the verdict is.... There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this child. Sigh. Long trip in the car yesterday. For once in my life I was not trying to push food or water on the kid, being that he had to be NPO for at least 3 hours prior to his CT Scan. He didn't need the IV with contrast. Got some good films. Walked them over to the clinic where our doctor was holding a clinic day.

Tried to overhear most of his conversation over the phone with the radiologist regarding the CT scan, but of course DS was bouncing off the walks. But basically his lungs were clear. We inquired if it was just difficult to get or for radiologists to read Xrays on such a small child, but we pretty much got a noncommital response.

Looked DS over, listened to him, we went over his meds. We're going to gradually switch him over to some stronger enzymes based on his weight and stools...

Planning to request the radiology report from the hospital to see what they say exactly. I do have the films, but who the heck knows how to read those. Think we're DONE having Xrays conducted at the local CF clinic. For convenience sake we have his labs and those done at his annual well child appointment every year, but as mentioned previously have never ever gotten an accurate Xray. And with a response time of over 2 weeks vs. immediate.... Well worth the extra hour or so during our appointment in the City.

I'm so happy to hear he is well/nothing wrong. I'm sorry it was such a mess finding it out though.
