There is an organic rice milk, that is equivalent in calories to milk. I believe the brand is Original Rice Dream. I find it at Costco at a very decent price. The things I have been hearing about soy are not all that great. As I understand, you cannot find any soy products that are not genetically altered, which means it is not the way that it was intended to be for human consumption. I know for my boys and I that our stomachs do not handle soy well at all!!

blessings,
missa

Jennifer- can you tell me what brand of soy you use?

Missa- Do your children drink the coconut milk straight as they would with regular milk? My daughter is a Terrible eater! I'm thinking some of it may be related to the PDD because I am hearing that these kids often have extreme preferences to food. Right now all she wants is Carnation chocolate in her whole milk, she is obsessed with Cheetos, loves cheese, and hot dogs. Yum right?! I have heard the same things about soy and that for kids on the spectrum it may not be the best... I had a dietician that specialized in autism tell me it sounds as if Kate craves dairy, so that is what we are taking out first. Just so hard! What brand of Coconut milk do you use? I haven't seen any in our stores in our area.

Thanks,

I usually use the whole foods brand, but we have relocated to an area without a wholefoods, so I have found the thai kitchen brand. These are the only brands that I have found to have no preservatives in them. I have seen the thai kitchen brand in most stores and on Vitacost.com also. I make their high calorie juices with them.
My blog shows the 2 recipes I use for my boys. Caleb's is sweeter than Ethan's.

We make chocolate milk with the coconut milk, so I bet you can just had the carnation stuff in. You need to shake it REALLY REALLY good though!!!! Your best bet would to be put it in a blender.
Ask away, if i haven't answered all your questions
