Dancing

I just started dancing this year as I am taking a Jazz class in college. I find that I really enjoy it and it makes exercising fun. Some possibly benefits to dancing that I see include cardio, increased flexibility and strength, increased balance, and... since the music is playing really loud when you're dancing... no one notices if you are breathing really hard or coughing... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

Just wondering if anyone else dances for exercise?

I studied classical ballet for years. The cardio was always difficult for me but I found that the stop-and-start cardio involved in a typical dance class was possible even though I couldn't do continuous, intense cardio. It's true that nobody notices if you are gulping air or coughing-everyone exerts themselves so they just think you are working extra hard. The discipline you learn when dancing is also great in other areas of your life.

i really miss dancing! i was in dance from the age of three til my sophmore year in high school. then i had to quit because i had back surgery. when i started getting back into it i needed another back surgery and now i have hip and knee problems.

ive been dancing since i was 4, i take 5 different classes a week i find it is one of the easiest sports to keep up in especially when im sicker, plus i love to dance.
