Just saw articles with studies on both the eflow and proneb... Yesterday had only seen the one mentioning the proneb ultra and thought it was rather strange. Guess it makes sense.

Oh and spoke with the head RT at our local CF clinic on Friday about the Eflow, as they were going to start one patient on it last time I'd spoken with him in December. They stopped all talk of it due to the "colistin" issue last year.

Jess!!! It's so good to hear (read <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">)from you!! I'm glad you are seeing positive results. BTW, I miss you around here girl.

This drug certainly seems promising, and this thread has been very informative. Thank you to all of you people who are "in the know" for clarifying, and explaining the process and the restrictions of the study.

keep in mind that the colistin issue was simply pre-mixed colistin - NOTHING to do with the eFlow. colistin should be mixed right before use - and that girl was using colistin that had been mixed and put into viles like pulmozyme days before.

so those of us with the eFlow just mix our colistin right before nebbing - just like those with old school compressors. those who use old school compressors with pre-mix colistin are at just as much risk as the girl that died.... again, nothing to do with the eFlow.
