Yep, I'll admit that even I went through some various types of depression...probably the most devastating one was when I was dumped by a gf whom I thought "Was the one". It took me over a year to get over the biggest part of her, but I had the resources of talking to some people, and my parents (mom) had suggested I go to a few church-related seminars to "seek myself". I really think it helped to get me started in understanding myself... I think it was something which helped me focus on some goals (short and long-term) and it seems when you have found a goal in life, you feel you have more meaning. Also, if you focus on your strengths and weaknesses, you can find it a challenge to overcome the weakenesses.

And, yes although it sucks to be in depression (and worse when it feels you pull everyone down), the first step is to recognize you are in that state and are reaching out for help...everyone will grab your hand!

I also hope that you have the resources to seek professional help as well as someone whom you can confide in.

Oh, yes, one last thing....Take everything ONE Day At A TIME...and try not to feel overwhelmed <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Take care...(((HUGS)))

I actually around the same time (I'm 20 now) But last year I was all over the place. One day I would be happy the other day miserable. somedays I'd be pissed off for no reason what so ever but everything rubbed me the wrong way. Other days I'd have no interest in ANYTHING. I went to therapy and a psychiatrist and it turns out I was suffering from bi-polar disorder.

My manic side was aggression not so much happiness. I would be come frustrated, irritable, angry and yell at everyone. =\

So my advice, is seek help. Whether it be a counselor or psychiatrist, find someone who can help you through it. =) It made the world a difference to me.

Hope you feel better!

Depression, sound like to me. We all go through it, helps me to find something to keep myself occupied doing... maybe a new activity could bring an interest if you have time... are you taking summer classes?

I give better advice than I take, lol.

When I was 20 I hated the world for allowing me to exist, it passed as I grew older. I get in my moods once in a while, but I blame them on Prednisone.

Try to find something to occupy yourself with... Meds, do you really want to be put on more? If so.. a low dose of Valium has worked for me for several years. Don't take the Xanax because if you want to quit taking them, it could cause seziures... that is how a Non-CFer friend of mine passed away.

Valium takes the edge off, and I have never had a problem with them.

Good luck

You might want to double check the antibiotic you're taking. A lot of the ones we take have depression symptoms as possible side effects.

Hope you're able to feel better soon!
