I also agree with the previous posts that mutations don't have much to do with disease progression and severity. My mutations are close to your baby's (DF508 and 3396delC). I've never heard of anyone else having the 3396delC mutation so I'm assuming these types are quite rare. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 8, am (for the most part) pancreatic sufficient, and have mild lung problems. Don't let your genetic counselor scare you about the idea of 'bad' mutations. When I was diagnosed, my doctor told my mother that I should already be dead. Not listening to all that bull and maintaining a positive attitude is one of the most important things you can do for your child's health. Good luck with everything.
