Diabetic-like symptoms

Do any of you have diabetic-like episodes even though you're blood sugar tests come back normal? Like suddenly feeling ravenously hungry/ getting the shakes. I've had this at least since high school (I'm 36) and had to start eating a 4th meal in the afternoon to ease the effect.

(not formally diagnose w/ CF yet)

I have the same problem. I have had to eat a small snack in the morning (I eat early in the am) and then a snack in the afternoons. Get all shaky, feel funky. Got gestational diabetes but not regular diabetes. I think the doctor's tests are flawed due to my continuing symptoms. I have even checked my blood sugar when I feel weird but the numbers are normal.

I have started a diabetic diet on my own(low sugar, counting carbs) and it seems to help some (get the shakes less often).

My hypothesis is that alot of the wierdness (low sugar, nutritional deficiencies, low oxygen, dehydration) is going on inside of the cells. In fact, I've run across doctors/researchers making statements that seem to imply that. I have very dry skin, dry eyes, gummy dry throat, lips that chap and bleed, knuckles that crack and bleed, despite that fact that I'm constantly downing huge amounts of water.. I asked my PCP how could it not show up in my blood tests and he said "the body can have dehydration effects".
