My 7.5 year old daughter started Creon 12000 (3x a day) two weeks ago. She has done very well on it. Her stomach aches have essentially gone away and she feels better.
Her GI specialist has her on Boost 1.5 to up the calories but we had not been giving her much of it lately. Yesterday, she drank a full one in the afternoon and then complained that her stomach hurt and eventually threw up (her dinner and boost). I was wondering if it was just too much fat at one time (does that make sense). The boost 1.5 has 17 fat grams. For PI, is a low fat or high fat diet recommended?
Thanks,
KKN
Mom to 7.5 year old daughter with "mild" pancreatic insufficiency, lactose intolerance, growth hormone deficient, inconclusive sweat test who will have Ambry test next week
