Cheese is known to cause constipation, so it does make sense that it may cause some problems. In fact, if you are ever "loose," cheese is one of the good things to eat to help you get regulated again. Conversely, though, if you get blocked up easily, cheese is for sure something to limit or avoid.
As far as deep fried foods go, I too avoid them, generally like the plague... They cause nothing but problems here as well. No other food gives me such an upset stomach so quickly, and for so long.
Have you ever tried miralax? I used to take lactulose, but I find miralax much more pleasant to take. You just mix it in with any drink (i even mix it with chicken broth sometimes), and its barely noticeable. No more of that nasty sweetness from the lactulose.
