Hi All!
This is the first time I've posted to the entire "Adult" forum, so hello to those I do not know. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
My boyfriend just decided to look into going on disability. He's been in the hospital 4 times in the past 10 months. He usually only goes in 2 times a year, but this year has been hard on him. Anyway, he got a letter from the HR department at his work, which said he ran out of FMLA days.... basically his job is no longer protected (until the FMLA days renew in September). He goes back to work tomorrow after being out for 3 weeks while in the hospital.
Anyway, neither of us know that much about disability and how it works. Does anyone out there have any information or advice to pass on? We are worried that he will struggle financially if he does go on disability (we live together).
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated! We aren't too worried that he'll lose his job, but you just never know. He definitely qualifies for disability, but he's been reluctant to accept the fact that at 27 years old he might, realistically, need to apply for it.
