It is my understanding that the social security adm. puts a lot of weight on the fev1 and your height. They have a scale that they go by.
Also in conjunction with the fact if you take either IV or (inhaled antibiotic, tobi) every 6 months or more, one would qualify if you had supporting info from your Dr.

Scanboyd, just being on nebulized or IV antibiotics doesn't mean you meet the criteria. You must also have superimposed recurrent bacterial infections (basically a re-occuring lung infection like culturing staph. or pseudo.) at least once every 6 months and be put on the tobi or IV antibotic because of that.

Many CFers use tobi for maintenance reasons and wouldn't qualify because they don't have an accompanying lung infection.

I worked 33 years full time,

When I went to apply , the agent put me in for Both SSI and SSDI.
I have filled out TONS of forms.
Just this past friday I got a check from SSI< no letter to explain what was going on with
SSDI, I have a friend who also has cf that is getting Both.

I wonder is that normal.

thank you... i will go and apply when i get back to hawaii.. i am in spokane right now on leave with the hubby!! i am 23 and i worked last year about 7 months part time.. and then back when i was younger like 16-18 i worked for some time... oh i also worked at macy's for like a month two years ago but i dont like to talk about that one!! haha!! anyways, so i am pretty sure that all together i have worked over 1 1/2 years to 2 years i would think.. so that would be awesome if you could help me out with this! i will PM you when i get back home and apply.. thank you again.. you are awesome!!!
