You do have to be aggressive with your treatment even if it means going to the hospital again. Can you talk to your doctors about your concerns reguarding hospital acquired infections? Maybe they can work with you and let you do home IV's again.

In addition to my daily meds I walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes, I do it daily now and it really does help. I also find that doing Hypertonic Saline with the inCourage vest twice a day has been very helpful too (I am doing it as I write this to you<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">). This all helps with keeping my lung function stable.

I hope you can soon work out a plan with your doctor that you will both be happy with. Let us know how it goes. Keeping you in prayer.

Sorry to hear you're not feeling better after the IVs... I am terrified of hospitals for this reason. I agree that more meds (and another sputum culture to be sure they're "hitting" the right bugs) may be necessary. In the meantime.... try as much as you can to do all your meds/treatments (perhaps doubling up on the vest or "pounding" treatments). I am a HUGE advocate of exercise... I agree that walking as much as you can is a GREAT way to help your lungs... Even when I'm sick on IVs in the hospital they make me walk 30 mins. every day. No matter how lousy I feel. Another thing I notice really helps is if you have access to weights... doing light weights with the "huff" breathing seems to help me clear crap out of my lungs even more than cardio or walking does. But, I'm sure its different for everyone.

Either way, please keep us posted. I'll be thinking of you!
