Yeah, it does, im 14 right now and i have to stop hanging with friends and crap because i have to do a bunch of treatments and *****, not to mention constantly getting sick.

I still live most of my day with my friends forcing myself to be a normal kid, not a cf patient, i would rather enjoy life for a short time then enjoy a little and suffer for a long time.

My parents started me in karate. I like going and can go several times a wk if I feel like it. It helps with my breathing. Not being able to breathe sucks, but God has a purpose for it. mike23 i feel for you i remember when i was 14 about 6 years ago i was in a similar position to you and it really messed me up mentally you feel inferior to everyone else and this thus affects your performance on the field your confidence takes a dip and ya game suffers but what i have realised if you put your normal teamates into our shoes they would similarly be affected

CF destroyed my social life. When your lung function drops below 40, you start chasing the world. I agree with Life's post. Living on the edge or without quality is meaningless and not worthy. I envy everyone who can still breathe its a blessing.
