does colistyn make you cough?

Just curious cause I notice I do all my nebs and get to the colistyn and finally start bringing up lots of stuff! interesting.

I dont cough using Colistin. That is one reason why I like it better than Tobi. I dont cough much until later on after my total treatment anyway.

Yeah, with TOBI I coughed uncontrollably and so much I nearly threw up every treatment! With colistyn, the cough is deeper and actually gets a lot of gunk up... sometimes even more than H.S.!!! So, maybe its a good thing (sure feels good), but not good that I'm coughing out the med!

Colistin was horrible for me, after 2 weeks it was bad I'd have to do albuterol after just to be able to get some air.

Collistin made my chest tight so now i just do tobi - when i get
back to the UK we're going to try find something for me to have on
the month off (at the mo whilst i'm in the states i'm doing tobi
constantly to tie me over)

I had zero problems with colistin and more w/ tobi. Do you mix the colistin with 2.5 cc of normal saline? Maybe you should try that. Also, I love the taste of colistin. Unfortunately, my insurance has refused to cover it so I'm "up the creek".
