I looked on Dr. Phil's website. This week is part of the holiday extravaganza. The site only indicated that the victims of Hurrican Katrina will be involved in the fun. No seperate mention of any one with CF. The schedule only goes until this Friday so maybe it will show more info on a newer list or maybe they just didnt seperate it from the Katrina portion.

I deleted the email. But I thought she said around the 20th. This lady knew of couple that were on the show through a friend that is in a group with them. But I also seen the holiday miracles show is Thursday. She said the whole show is on this couple. So I'll try to find out some more info. In the mean time keep a look out.

On a past show they had a mother (respiratory therapist) and daughter (30 year old w/CF that needs a transplant). The mother was treating her more like a patient than a daughter and the daughter wanted her mom back. I think if you search CF on the site it might pull up info on that show.

If you're going to be that crude, please let me know why you feel this way?

I did pull up his website & searched cystic fibrosis & turned up no results? If someone else has better luck, let us know.
Hope

This show was mentioned on the Cystic-L list. Below is a quote from the original post:

-----
"I have really good news... I was at the Stanford lung transplant support group last Thursday and a couple, who both have CF and had transplants this year, announced that they are going to be on the Dr. Phil show! The title of the show is something like "Christmas Miracles" and the entire show focuses on this one couple and how their lives have been transformed through lung tx and CF.

A little about the couple- Their names are Dave(26 y.o.) and Gwen(24 or 25). They met last February at support group. Dave was waiting for transplant and Gwen had been transplanted just a month and a half earlier and didn't look too hot. She had lost a ton of weight, was weak, and was in a wheelchair cause her stomach never "woke up" after the surgery so she couldn't really keep food down. They got together on Valentines Day, fell in love, and are now engaged! Dave got his transplant in July and now they are both doing awesome. When I saw them both in September, I did a double take when they walked in the room together, both weighing a much needed 30 pounds more than they had the first time I met them in Feb. Dave was O2 free and I didn't even recognize Gwen when I first saw her.

When will the show air, you may ask? It will air December 20, the one year anniversary of Gwen's tx. Don't worry, I'll send a reminder email. I am so excited. This will do so much for CF and transplant awareness. Take care everyone.

XOXO, Lara 25 wcf, cfrd"

I applaud him for doing anything with cystic fibrosis of course, but he's just an all around twit. The skits mad TV do about him he deserves 100%. His condescending nature alone when he talks to people is grounds enough to wish ill will upon him.

I did, with the comment of wanting him to be hit by a flaming cement truck filled with clowns filled with nitroglycerine going over a cliff, but was asked why, so I explained

Hope,
Here is how you can get info on the previous Dr. Phill show that featured someone with CF. When you search the site, only enter "Fibrosis". That should bring up the show. For some reason if you search CF or Cystic Fibrosis is does not appear.

Sean,
So about all this anger you have toward Dr. Phil...
"How's it working for you?"

Sorry, just a little Dr. Phill humor I couldn't resist!

Heh, you ever see the Mad TV skits they do on him? Great stuff. I always laugh like crazy at those skits. The one where he was on survivor and walked around naked the whole time being a pompous as* was clas*ic.

Btw the nazi word filter on here is stupid.

Anonymous,
Thanks for the tip on "fibrosis" I will check that.
Say what you will about Dr Phil, I think he genuinely wants to help people, not exploit them like some other talk show folks. I respect people that can say it like it is as opposed to telling you want you want to hear. I don't always agree on his advise, but for the most part, he seems to 'be working for me'.
I respect Sean for his opinion and I'm never afraid to share mine too.
