Make Sure You use a Cool Mist unit, if You use one..

In the winter time the air is dry from the heat system

I have used cool humidifier for years now

I sleep and feel much better with it.

Just make sure the water is not staying in the unit for more than 2 days
Change the filter every 4 week.

I also take mine apart and clean it when I store it for the rest of the
year. Throw the used filter out and clean the unit before storing in a
plastic bag, Then next year Clean it again and use a New filter,.

Do Not let the Filter stay in the unit While stored !! I forgot one year and it
had grown what looked like hair lol,. I threw the Whole Unit awat and bought a new one...

Oh boy, tell me about the dry air! I went to the ER thursday with a nose bleed! Scared everybody at work! Of course I did not know if it was my lungs or what until the Dr looked up my nose. He had me start using saline nasal spray, humidifiers and neosynephrine. I sure do feel better now. I am going to really try to stick to the saline spray. When you think about it, our secretions are too thick to begin with, add the dry air = trouble! Humidifiers - cool mist, cannot hurt. If you are using one regularly its going to run out of water, right? so rinse it out when you fill it up with water again. I prefer the ultrasonic type that has no filter. there is less of a chance of molds and bad stuff to build up.
