Eating fattening foods

So I know we are suppose to eat, eat and eat to keep weight on but I was curious if any of you try to eat good foods? My nutritionist is telling me to just eat whatever which included to have meat in the am with breakfast which means bacon. I guess what I am trying to say do you all try to watch what you eat in terms of if the food is healthy or not. I do try to eat well, grains etc. but to eat bacon seems like that is bad. ALthough, eating bacon and eggs in the am for breakfast feels alot more filling than a bowl of cereal. I guess I am just curious if anyone watches how healthy they ear or not or do you just eat whatever.

Thanks

I think you can eat extra calories and still have a healthier diet. You could start with turkey bacon instead of pork bacon. Eat good fats like from nuts, and oils that are better for you rather than french fries for example. Avacados are another good example.

Search the forums, because there have been many discussions on this subject. Also, I think that a lot of doctors/clinics are starting to believe that it really does make a difference if your diet is healthy, and not just filled with fat.

There are also different cuts of bacon, which aren't as fatty. You could also substitute lean ham or turkey ham as well.

Well I am a HEALTH FREAK. We eat extremely healthy in my house - but meat and eggs ARE healthy. Meat as all the vitamins and such that veggies do (veggies have things that meat doesn't so variety is good). Animals products are natural too. Some are just better for you than others. An important note is that you digest vitamins and minerals better is you eat them WITH a fat source.

I try to eat organics (when my budget allows) and healthier foods. I don't eat pork, and I don't drink soft drinks.

Things like peanuts, switching to grapeseed oil or vegetable oil while cooking. Adding coconut oil to shakes and the like... they are simple ways to help keep the calories while maintaining a healthier diet. Juices have a lot of calories as well. Organic peanut butter, salads with cheese and thick dressings... I've spent a lot of time trying to come up with healthy yet fatty foods, not many are coming to mind at the moment but if I can think of more I'll post them :)

Also talk with your nutritionist, sometimes they have ideas for eating healthy without losing the calories.

Avacado - a very healthy but high fat food. Mix it with yogart or banana.

Also -canola oil is healthier than vegatable.

The rule for healthy is non-processed and grass-fed free range animals.

But adding things like dressings or fruit dips gets the extra calories. Also lots of milk. And cooking certain foods in things like bacon grease. Try cooking with lard as it has some good healthy fats in it.

I agree with eating healthy but adding healthy fats into the diet. Avocados are my favorite. I splurge on buttered popcorn and ground beef (it is very oily). I also go heavy on the dressing on salads.

I try to eat lots of fruits and veges and steer clear away from sweets.
