Eating Patterns

Hey Lindsay-
I eat about every 3 hours, as well. I find that my blood sugar is higher in the morning after I eat. Maybe it has something to do with what i have eatten the night before?!
just typing out loud!
I have hypo-reactive glycemia and it sounds like that is what you may have too. But the test's don't lie. I dont' know your eating habits, but i know when i get ALOT of carbs (i love potatos) my blood sugar will drop extremely low after about 2-3 hours...
One of my good friends has diabetes and the signs of it are:
- frequent urination
- extreme highs and lows in blood sugars
- tireness
- head aches
- blurred vision
All of these occur when you're "high" and "low"
Hope this helps!

I did a research paper in high school on hypoglycemia. At that time, around 26 years ago, the only treatment doctors knew of were dietary changes and taking very high doses of vitamins. So, in addition to dietary changes, more vitamins might be helpful.

What you are describing sounds to me like it is neither hypoglycemia nor diabetes but something else where the insulin release is delayed, leading to highs followed by lows so you have problems with both high and low blood sugar. I don't recall the name of it. I need to leave for work shortly, so I don't have time. If I did have the time, I would talk about some of the dietary changes that helped me when I was younger and coping with serious hypoglycemia.

Good luck with this.

Hi Jenny,

I know you were in recently for treatment, did they by chance put you on any kind of steroids? When Dan was on steroids his blood sugers were really on a rollercoaster, he highs were really high and his lows were very low. Now when he's doing needs IV meds and the want to put him on an oral steroid we politely decline, since the negitives outweigh the positives. Just something to mull over anyways.
