MRSA is GONE! Bye-Bye!

Great news! Please do keep us updated...both of my girls do culture MRSA and have for about 9 years actually. Hannah started culturing it when she was just a few months old-not sure about Kayla b/c she was undx until she was 14 months old.

We have had clear cultures of MRSA in the past, but it seems to creep back in the cultures after a little bit of time. The girls CF dr. said not to consider anything 'gone' until after a full year of clear cultures.

So, please do keep us updated! I would be very interested in seeing how long she stays MRSA free<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Congrats on the great Christmas gift<img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

MRSA is GONE! Bye-Bye!

Gina-
Avery cultured pseudomonas last November from a throat culture. Our doc is very aggressive and we did an immediate bronch and she looked fine as usual and the pseudomonas was not present in the lungs. The doc suggested two weeks worth of Iv's and cipro just to be sure. He actually said the hypertonic saline may have prevented it from traveling down her throat to her lungs. He was right because the next culture she had was in January and it was gone. Crazy huh? The small time it was around it did not cause any problems. Hope your daughters case is just as positive.

Take care,
Lynsey
