The pharmacy that is in the outpatient clinic complex where my clinic is doesn't even carry HTS. I don't know about the Children's Hospital Pharmacy. The CF Services Pharmacy sends it in the 10% and .9% to mix in a vial for 7%, and that is the only way I have found to get it locally, either (now I use a local pharmacy- it's cheaper <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ). It was an aggravation to mix it at first, but now I have 2 measuring vials, so I throw them in with the nebs at the end of the day and don't have to worry about forgetting to sterilize it and waiting on it, etc. Now it's no big deal <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> .

Oh, and Amy, actually your blog did answer the multiple meds question- it was the link to the eFlow manual that I put up that didn't <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> .</end quote></div>

I'm glad that my blog helped.

I have been PMing with a bunch of people back and forth about the eFlow... and like I tell all of them.... there's no sense in all of us re-inventing the wheel when we can all learn from each other.

I went into the eFlow thing blind, but there's no reason anyone else has to. This is why I posted the blog - so everyone can make informed decisions about getting one and once they have it, so I can share my tips & tricks and info to make it easier to use.

If it weren't for this forum I would never have known about the eFlow. So I'm thrilled to be able to give back.

When using it in the car, does that mean only do it in areas where we can pop into a public restroom right away to rinse it (what is the time there?

</end quote></div> It's not important to was the plastic parts of the eFlow right away. Maybe just rinse them off if possible. But if not, for a few hours, it's no big deal.

In terms of the "head", the part that everyone freaks out about getting clogged, just bring some distilled water with you in the car. Rinse the head off with distilled water and throw it in the tupperwear bowl with alcohol. No big deal.

Then when you get home, just make sure to wash the plastic parts of the eFlow

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> Can I put in alcohol or water to keep the med from drying until I get in the restroom?) </end quote></div>

Rinsing plastic parts in tap water should be just fine. Rinsing the "head" in tap water should be avoided - the minerals can clog the head. Just bring along some disilled water and rinse the head with that <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> And can I get the eFlow free from cf foundation if I don't do my inhaled antibiotics on a regular schedule? I just do them when I'm sick...
</end quote></div>

I'm not sure about this one.... but you would be suprised how many insurance comapnies are covering the eFlow. They're realizing that meds are better deposited into the lungs, so it's worth them covering the device.

So if you can't get the specialty pharmacy to cover the eFlow (there are 3 specialty pharmacies that carry the eFlow in the US... only 3.... <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.sourcecf-crd.com/#get">http://www.sourcecf-crd.com/#get</a> if you want to see who carries it), then try to get your insurance to cover it. You might be suprised....

Thanks. They probably will cover it, but I have to find out if I have a deductable to meet before they start paying the 80% . I think I do... The good thing is, my DH wants it worse than I do, I think <img src="">, so I will probably be getting it either way- no new roof or replacement windows in the sunroom this summer, but the eFlow for sure...lol

Huh, according to that link, Pharmaceutical Specialties, Inc. would be my supplier of the eFlow, not Foundation Care? Since they are part of the same network, I wonder if the meds, specials, etc. are the same? Oh goody, more emails to send *grumble grumble* <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

Not sure if everything is the same between the same pharmaies. I would hope, but according to SourceCF, these are just random specialty pharmacies that they chose who they thought would be good supporters of the eFlow.

The 3 pharmacies are in the same "network" because they all are affiliated with SourceCF. Other than that, I don't think they're linked.
