Eflow

The EFLOW is amazing. Its soo quiet I didn't even realize it was on! And it felt like just as soon as I turned it on it was done. I opened the thing to make sure there was no med left b/c I was in shock and it was totally gone.

SOOO question -what other meds can be done in an eflow???

I have used the search method on it... some people say no to pulmozyme and saline... I used to do all but my head would clog after like a week... thats when I read that if you didnt use pulmo you would be fine, then I read somewhere else that saline shouldnt be done either... I dont have the eflow now b/c I got fed up w/ it years ago, so I havent tested those theories out.

so my recommendation is search the topic of the eflow on here and/or the TRIO

I absolutely LOOOOOOVE the eFlow. I love how quiet and fast it is. It's great for traveling too. I was told by my CF doctor that pulmozyme is ok to use in it, although only a half a dose - but he also said that it wouldn't hurt me if I did the whole dose either. I guess something with the way it makes such small particles it's really twice as much medicine or something like that. But, of course I would check with your doctor first before you try any medications in the eFlow because the concentrations needs to be different for it. I think there are other meds that can be done in there too, just not sure which ones.

no to pulmicort, something about the suspension will destroy the head..
we have been given the ok for albuterol, hypertonic saline, pulmozyme, and compounded tobrmycin.
we were given new dosing guidance for albuterol.

I have been using the eflow since jan and yes I do like it but I had to stop using the HTS and Pulmozyme in it cause it was cloggingh up the metal head and then defeated the purpose of using it for fasssst treatments. Kinda bummed. So now I use it for Albuterol and Tobra and Colistin. And then use my Pari Pro Neb Plus for the HTS and Pulmozyme. I was amazed too when I first got it but even though I clean and take care of the metal head it does get clogged as the metal head gets closer to the 3 month mark. But it is still fassster than Pari Pro Neb and can NOT beat how quite it is!!!! The silence is worth it too!

so the neb cub that you use for the cayston is the same neb cup you use for the rest? There isn't a different kind of neb cup for the machine?

So if I have an extra altera cup and I just use my meds in it and use the eflow???

Is there a way to clean it that prevents the clogging? Like if I washed and sterlized it after every use (3 times a day) and rinses really well in between meds?? Would that help?
