Enzyme Question?????

I know this is pretty much a fundamental question, but how many enzymes are too much? My nutrionist told me that too many can bring on blockages, and that I already take a gargantuan amount of enzymes per meal. If not for the reflexology shoe insoles I usually wear, I would not have normal bowel movements ever. Those insoles are sort of uncomfortable, and not suitable for just sitting around the house, I'd like to wear my pajamas and slippers and not have to worry about wearing any special insoles or take fennel supplements just so I can digest food properly. Needless to say I tried taking less enzymes and I had abdominal pains and loose stools. I've thought that maybe I'd have better luck switching enzyme brands, but I believe Creon already has the most lipase in it, so I'm considering raising the amount to maybe 1 enzyme per every 3 or 4 grams of fat and see where that goes. Any thoughts?

If trying that doesnt work, I am pretty sure that I heard of CFers (not many tho) using 2 different types of enzymes.

I hope you can get this straightened out......

As to the blockage possibilities.....IMHO dont think it would happen over night. I think you would notice a change in your bowel movements which would indicate constipation before obstruction.

There have been times where I took a lot of enzymes that ended up being more then what I needed & I got constipated, but a little mirilax & things were running smoothly <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

I take tons of enzymes. For me it takes about 10 Ultrase MT20 per meal. I'll take as many as 12 if I have something with a lot of fat. I don't know if you have problems heartburn/reflux, but if you do a PPI like prilosec can help your enzymes work more efficiently.
