Is anyone else on Pancrecarb? Emily takes 6-7 pancrecarb MS-4's with meals and 3-4 with a snack...depending on what it is. This has always seemed like such high number of pills to me, espcecially in light of the fact that some of you adults are taking fewer than half that amount in a day. But, if we cut down at all, the stools get completlly greasy and Emily gets "refluxy." Also, as often as I can, I dump the diaper contents in the toilet...they all sink at the current dosage, but will float if I go down, even for small snacks.

So, I think she needs the amount she gets, but I am concerned. If her pancreas needs this much help now...will it just eventually give out some time?

Also has anyone else needed to change brands because the first one stopped being effective? This has happened to us twice in 19 months. (we did Creon and Pancrease). We've been on this over a year, so far.

you guys are lightweights! Mike takes ultrase mt20 and takes about 12 with meals and 8 with snacks. Actually, since the transplant, he's cut them down to about half of that. I'm not sure why that would change, but it did.

Kj started out on pancrease as a baby,
then moved on to cotazyme
and then finally moved on to creon forte 25000u

she has 3-4 with snacks and 4 -5 with meals

all depending on fat content of meals though.

She has short gut syndrome as well (due to loss of 30cms of small intestine at birth), so most of her food doesn't digest very well and she has constant runny stools. The docs have always been surprised as to how well she has done at putting on weight and growing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
