I still don't understand why you need additional pulmonary rehab?

I go to Gold's Gym, not a girl, so curves is out for me.

I have done pulmonary rehab. The program I was in was a combination of exercises and educational sessions. The exercises were a combination of weights and cardio. The one added value you might get from the rehab is that they can teach you how to breathe more efficiently as you exercise because of your lung problems. It's not like it's rocket science, but I'd have to say having someone standing with me giving me constant reminders for a few weeks really DID make a difference. The education sessions were very interesting to me and I learned quite a few ideas for simplifying my life with cf and being more efficient in terms of not wasting energy.

Bottom line, what you are doing already is probably the most impactful, but if you can add the rehab to it and the rehab is covered by insurance, I'd say to go ahead and do it.

Congratulations on your commitment and your success!

OP I just wanted to congratulate you.

Stories like yours are so inspiring. I feel so often on this board people attribute their clinical outcome to their genetics and your story proves that our actions can affect our clnical outcomes as well.

Congrats to you! You are an inspiration.

Awesome Kelli!!!!
Exercise is the best form of therapy!
All types is great and you do NOT have to join a gym as they can get $$$.
Jogging at a local high school track, park, around the block is great and does nto cost anything...

~Original Poster~
Hello again everyone,
Thank you for the encouragement from everyone, I really appreciate it!
I am continuing to exercise and I got on my treadmill today and walked/jogged a mile. The jogging part is amazing for me. I used to go about 10 seconds and get out of breath. I was panting & sweating when I was done with my mile but it felt good.
I enjoy doing what I can to stay as healthy as possible.
It's hard for me to walk outside because we live in a very rural area and have no side walks. I don't feel comfortable walking on the road (crazy drivers, dogs, etc). So I'm thankful I have a treadmill and can stay in doors (especially since its so cold, I live in Ohio, it was probably about 15 degrees today!)
