EXTREME DR. AVERSION....

I guess this is just another "hang in there" comment. My boy did the same thing: he started crying when we were half way to the pediatrician because he knew the route we took only went to that one place; The pediatrician was worse than the CF clinic because of all the vaccinations those first couple years. We tried to give him a promise of something fun after the appointments and focusing on talking about that instead of the Dr.: a trip to the park or out for lunch or whatever fit his interests at the time...but I'm afraid mostly it was just waiting until he was old enough to realize that the Dr. appointments only lasted a little while and then it was all done.

My parents got Emily a cute one that came in a case shortly after she was dx'ed with epilepsy at age 2 when she started having to get frequent labs, etc. I'll check around online and see if I can find it. It came with a stethoscope that made heartbeat or coughing noises if you pressed a button on the piece you put on your chest, and all kinds of other 'instruments' that are all appropriate for toddler use, including bandages that slip on like cuff-style bracelets for after you get a shot. It was a huge hit w/ her for years.

eta: this is the dr. kit we had (still have, actually, 6yrs later, scattered all over the toybox. ) It garners reviews all over the place but averages 4 stars. Little Doctors play kit.
