FAILED...

Jennifer, I am so glad to hear this! Although CFRD can be scary at times, it is generally fairly easy to control, so if it does ever turn into CFRD, know you're not alone and it CAN be treated... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Either way, GREAT news! Keep doing what you're doing! Hope you have more energy soon too. Please keep us posted.

Thank you everyone for the great advice and support! I am so much more relieved now.

Kylie - Yes, you should get a glucose test and an A1C. I was always told 2 hours after eating that my sugar should be between 80-140. Two hours post I was never higher than 150. Usually, I'm around 120. Yes, the 150 is slightly high but not life threatening or anything. 180 2 hours post eating is somewhat high. I would get it checked out. Fasting (first thing in the morning) should be between 6?-112. At least that's what the lab instructed me. Mine was 95. If your morning sugar is higher than 150, they are unable to do a glucose test. I learned a lot from the lab 2 weeks ago. Things are always changing. That same test of mine a few years ago would have been normal; however, not to long ago they "updated" the values. I think that too was why my doc wasn't so concerned. MAKE SURE TO GET BOTH THE A1C AND GLUCOSE TESTS. I AM THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW ONE CAN SAY ONE THING, AND THE OTHER SAYS SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

I was tested as an annual precaution. Actually, I hadn't had an A1C in 1.5 years (right when I decided to try and conceive) and 2-hour-glucose at least 5 years ago. I switched CF docs nearly 2 years ago. He is on-the-ball with yearly checks and stuff like that. Hope the information helps!

I have my first glucose test on March 23rd. AHHH!! I'm nervous!

Last time I was at clinic, I was feeling like I was about to pass out. They checked my blood sugar and it was either in the 60s or 70s.

Hopefully, I'll do fine, but I worry because I'm a candyaholic! We'll see!

i know my a1c is fine and fasting glucose are fine. had those tested recently. the levels are only skewed 2 hours after eating. in fact, sometimes they drop too low despite not taking any insulin. hopefully the tolerance test will shed some light.

SUE! My glucose buddy!! You get to go first so you'll have to let me know what to expect. If I couldn't eat candy, I really don't kow what I would do. Candy is my anti-drug! And the fact that I do so many prescription drugs I wouldn't even have time for illegals!

Let me know, glucose Sue!
